This is a picture of a Shuttle Pilot for the Republic Transport Service standing next to the shuttle that takes you from the Illum: Republic Orbital Station down to the planet of Illum itself. I want her clothes. SO BADLY. Red is my favorite color and on the Republic side of things there are so few red items. These clothes would totally match my Longspur Blaze. I would be smiling, styling and profiling.
Real life = Crazy. Nuff said.
Moving on… I have switched from using Tharan to do dailies with to using Nadia. The main reason is because I am keeping Tharan out running slicing missions constantly trying to gather pretty purple sliced tech parts. I figure he’s likely happier running around the galaxy with his beloved Holiday instead of following me around all day anyway. So Nadia got promoted; but before I could allow myself to be seen in public with her once again, I had to give her a makeover. I was not a fan of original Nadia at all – she looked like an emo teenager to me. Unfortunately, one of the things I hated about her most was the blue tattoos smeared across her face and it turns out you cannot have a Nadia without blue face tattoos. Bummer. Not that I have an issue with face tattoos, I just like them to be a little more subtle. I finally decided to go with the customization that managed to cover her face a bit and give her hair the same color as mine. Because my hair is awesome.
Then I dressed her in a shirt that matches mine.
Is that weird?
I’ve been playing alts a lot more lately and while leveling my trooper through Coruscant, I actually earned a helmet that I don’t hate. I know, that’s unheard of. But it’s true. I’m sure other troopers have worn it and maybe most people hate it like most helmets, but there’s something about this one that I think is cute. It goes well with my face tattoo? I’m not sure what it is that makes me like it but until I earn another one, I will proudly display my head slot. I’m just sad that it’s a low level green helmet and not one I can continue to wear.
But at least I know I won’t be wearing any ugly helmets. I have already purchased orange items I want to wear to make a cool looking outfit. I just have to get to level 19 to be able to equip them and I should easily hit 19 today. So depending on how much money I have and how quickly I can afford to put mods in everything, I will make sure and post some pictures of my trooper in her hawt, new outfit soon.
Yep, those are two of my guildies all decked out in Columni gear after a good month of raiding. It’s okay, you can laugh at them. We certainly do. Clearly whoever designed this particular set of gear has a thing for bananas. And priests. I should stop there.
(click to get a better view … it’s totally worth it)
Thanks to my wonderful guildie Njessi and her craftiness, I have temporarily shed the skirt/dress/lower robe and I’m actually wearing pants. Err.. well the item is still called a lower robe but that’s just a technicality. The only minor problem is that on my skinny ass type 1 body, the crotchal area of the pants look a tad bit weird (bunched up) so I changed my shirt out for this cape thing with a ribbon thing that covers the crotchal area. Yes, I do have a way with words. Thanks for noticing.
Of course, it wouldn’t be fair to have someone be completely happy with their wardrobe, so the ribbon thing that covers my crotch has to create it’s own problem by turning all sideways when I’m in my fighting stance and looking like some weird, twisted third leg that doesn’t quite touch the ground. But, what can you do? Now that I’m getting some more raiding time in this weekend, I’ll likely be updating my gear soon anyway. Until then, I’m pretty happy with this outfit considering the alternatives. And besides, it’s special simply because it was made for me by a friend and she didn’t even make me pay for it. Yep, my guild is THAT awesome.
This post is going to be me telling you how I feel about the game now that we’re a solid 3 months in and what changes I have made with my character, or play style, or whatever. But first, I would like to propose the title of this post become a community blog topic for anyone who’s interested. I would love to read about what the past 3 months have meant to you and what has changed or remained the same regarding your main toon, the amount of time you play, etc. So let’s make this a thing. Everyone do a 3 month update post. It’ll be awesome.
The past 3 months for me has been amazing. I am totally in love with this game. My guild is getting ready to go into it’s 4th week of raiding and even though I purposely avoided raiding in WoW, I am so glad I made the choice to participate here. Of course, let’s be honest, I’m surrounded by the most amazing people. I’m pretty damn sure I wouldn’t be having so much fun raiding if I weren’t in the guild I’m in. The main reason I never committed to it before is because giving up my weekend nights to sit at the computer always made me feel like I was missing a chance at a social life. But when you’re doing it with some of your bestest friends, it doesn’t feel like that at all. I find myself looking forward to the weekend raids. And I still go out and do stuff, I just make sure I am done by early evening so I can be home on time to spend the rest of the night with a great group of people.
I’m also very happy to report that my main is still Kristalys. In the months leading up to game release I had studied all the races and classes and narrowed down what I thought I’d enjoy the most and I am totally in love with the choice I made. Kristalys was the first character I rolled and she is still in the same role and spec as she has been from the beginning. Now I did redo her skill tree once because I didn’t necessarily make the right choices the first time through, but other than that there’s been no changes to her. I know quite a few people who changed their minds after rolling some alts and trying new things, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I actually haven’t done much with alts yet, so I suppose it could still happen to me. But at this point, as much as Kristalys and I have been through and the fact that I have began my raiding career with her, I don’t see her being pushed aside anytime soon.
So has anything changed for me since launch? Yes, I have changed my crew skills. I started out with 3 gathering skills: slicing, treasure hunting and archaeology. Then a couple of weeks ago I got rid of archaeology and picked up bioanalysis in it’s place in an effort to help provide some biochem materials to the people who were trying to supply everyone with stims and medpacs for raids. But then this week, I realized it might just be easier if I could help make the stims and medpacs instead of having to ask what materials they needed all the time. So I dropped treasure hunting and picked up biochem. I know a lot of people who think slicing got nerfed so much it’s not really worth it but I’m just so used to the slicing nodes out in the world it would make me sad to walk by a roadside pc or footlocker and not be able to get some money out of it.
Alright, that’s it for me. Kind of boring because not much has changed for me. I’m on the same server, in the same guild, playing the same character. But what about you? I know some of you have some more exciting stories than mine. Let me hear about it. Write your own “Now That The Game Is 3 Months Old…” post and leave a comment here if you do. Next week I’ll round them all up in a link love post here on this site.
In closing, here’s some pics of how Kristalys has changed (obviously clothes only) over the months:
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it somewhere here before (too lazy to look it up though) but I have a history of being very greedy in games and trying to amass as much money as possible. I really don’t know how this developed. I mean, I love to amass money in real life too, but in video games I collect it and then don’t want to spend it, whereas in real life I spend it all the time on all the things. I would be so much better off if I could switch those two things around; but I digress.
Point is, I logged in the other day and smiled to myself to notice I had finally topped the 1 million credits mark. Then it hit me – I could actually afford to buy the highly sought after (and extremely highly priced) Magenta color crystal for my lightsaber and I could even justify it as a necessary purchase on my road to raid readiness due to the fact it would increase the crit on my weapon by +17. Yay for me!
I was already parked in front of the GTN kiosk selling some of my archaeology materials, so I quickly did a search and purchased one for $395k credits. It did hurt just a bit to let that much money go, but I still had over 700k left and WHO CARES I HAVE A PRETTY PINK LIGHTSABER! Yay for spending money!
Today is Tuesday, just in case you didn’t know, which means yesterday was Monday. Logic. I haz it. Normally I try to put up a post every Monday as a way of officially returning to the weekly business of being a blogger. I rarely plan my posts in advance (and it shows) but towards the end of last week as I made good progress in my leveling, I did begin to put together a plan for what I wanted to post yesterday. By the time I had logged off Wednesday night, I had hit level 46 and since I had a 3 day weekend ahead of me I was convinced I would make it to 50 before the weekend was out.
Unfortunately, by Saturday evening I had ran out of rested xp and leveling was going pretty slow. I was almost through level 48 at that time. So I parked Kristalys in a cantina and logged off for the night. Sunday morning I started in again and did make into level 49 but then ran out of rested xp again. I tried to keep going, but it just was not worth it. I parked her again and haven’t logged back into her yet. I’m disappointed but at the same time, I’m excited to be so close and I know I’ll hit 50 the next time I get a chance to login and spend some time with her. Which should be tomorrow night.
In the meantime, I decided I’d spend some time working on the Trooper alt I am going to be leveling up as a healer. The last time I had played her I had just completed the quests on Ord Mantell and had gotten my first companion and was told to move on and venture into the rest of the world. So when I logged in on her this weekend, the first thing I needed to do was go the fleet. As soon as I got there, I got the pop-up that I could choose a free customization package for Aric Jorgan. Because red is my favorite color, I chose the Urban customization package. You can imagine my surprise when I opened it and slapped it on him only to discover that his pants were blue and not red. Yep, somehow the customization got screwed up. I received the Urban jacket and Urban boots but got the Scout pants instead of the Urban pants. I realize it’s not a huge deal, technically, but it just looks so damn tacky. I guess I’m going to open a ticket on it and see if they can get me the right pair of pants. I’ve not heard good things about customer support, so I will let you know how it goes.
1. Qyzen Fess looks awesome wearing a cool heavy armor cape and sporting the Qyzen Customization 1 kit sold at the security key vendor for 12k credits. It not only gives him yellow skin, it gives him his right eye back. BONUS!
2. I think I’ve found an outfit I’m happy with and will likely keep for a long time. The gloves have the same bluish color on them that matches the shirt and then everything has the brown that ties in with the skirt. There’s no stupid hoods covering my face or weird neck-roll collars. I like it. I LOOK GOOD DAMMIT!
3. Ambassador Jennik has a huge bubble ass and is apparently busy trying to admire it.
I am currently level 41 and have been questing on Hoth for several days now. I’m freezing. So I decided to warm myself up a bit by backtracking to Nar Shaddaa and finishing up a bonus quest I still had in my log. While there, I had to speak with npc Deera Ulyette. As I watched the cut scene during our interaction I realized I really loved the outfit she was wearing. Like an idiot I didn’t grab a screenshot from the cut scene where she was zoomed in and presented in high quality. You’ll just have to use your imagination.
I want these clothes for Kristalys.
